New Multivitamins - Less Berocca

On the advice of my local chemist, I have recently switched the brand of multivitamin I take daily.

I am no science-type dude, but I think that they must have more B complex vitamins in them because my intake of Berocca has reduced from two to one tablet a day.

This is great news: I was getting concerned about the amount of the tablets I was taking to help me work.

This all ties in to the sleep thing I have mentioned before. I read another theory the other day that sleep should only be had in 90 minute lots, eg 90 mins, three hours, four and a half hours etc.

From the site:

It explains why, when I get 8 hours of sleep I feel tired and groggy, or when I get 4 hour of sleep, I can barely wake up. As human beings, we should know about this fact, as everyone always says “get your 8 hours”. Yet some people fare better than others. Why is that? Probably because the more rested people are actually getting closer to 7.5, or 9 hours, while the 8 hour folk feel constantly unrested.

I might try to get 7.5 hours tonight – but when you have a youung baby, planning these things isn’t always an option :)

Incremental Design (or Tinkering)

I started to mess around with the design of this site today.

I have altered very slightly the default CSS that comes with Textpattern but it is still very early days.

When I use the term ‘incremental design’, I am really referring to my compulsion to tinker with the design without any plan or forethought. Incremental design makes it sound like a ‘legit’ process :)

Thanks to Jaymis and his amazing inbuilt Opera RSS reader, I also have all of my old site content backed up and I will upload it all if I can ever be stuffed.

Google now ranks me number one for the search term OK Sushi which is where I should be, I reckon.

Google AdSense will be added over time.

Dark Eye Sockets

I have very dark rings under my eyes. When I am extra tired, the darkness spreads to my eyelids and even to the sides of the bridge of my nose. Gross.

Googling around for a cure has given me the following tips:

  • Buy a good concealer (I refuse to wear makeup for something I can fix with a change in diet or sleep patterns)
  • Sleep more (I missed a lot of sleep in my youth due to partying and I havent yet caught up)
  • Eat a lot of vitamin C
  • Put cold teabags or cucumber slices on your eyes (just like in the movies)
  • Buy an eye ointment with vitamin K which strengthen capillary walls and make the darkness less visable

The easiest option would be to regularly swallow a fistful of vitamin c tablets and make sure I get a solid 8 7.5 hours sleep a night. When you have a baby in the house though, this can prove tough.

Maybe I just need a holiday?
